The AMO Guide to Archive Techniques contains links that explore the nuances of archiving different types of data, from user files, email and fixed content (the output of enterprise content management or document management systems), and databases, to more metadata-rich objects such as video and digital medical images.  Over time, we hope that this section will grow to cover special archive requirements by vertical markets, such as healthcare, pharmaceutical research, oil and gas exploration, etc. Be sure to suggest links that you have found to be of use once you have registered on this site.

The AMO Guide to Archive Platforms contains links to providers of soup-to-nuts data archiving platforms, whether these take the form of appliances targeted to specific data types, such as email, or unified platforms for archiving many forms of data.  We invite vendors to link to their platforms here, but we also want to hear from users of the platforms that are out there.  Once we have implemented our comment facility, consumers will be able to sound off about what works and what doesn't.

The AMO Guide to Archive Service Providers is an ambitious effort to identify archive-savvy consultants, integrators and resellers who can support organizations in their archiving initiatives.  Service providers are invited to add their links, which we will endeavor to sort according the geography(ies) in which the service provider operates.  That way, it will be easier for you to find support in your geo.  Over time, and with your help, we hope to provide the means for consumers to provide feedback on the quality of services that they have received from their service provider.

Some organizations lack the staff skills, facilities or infrastructure to host data archives themselves.  Others simply prefer to outsource the archiving practice to a qualified service provider as a means to green their infrastructure.  Whatever the justification, there is growing interest in outsourcing the archive function to a qualified archive outsourcing service provider.  The AMO Guide to Archive Outsourcing is where you can begin researching this option for your organization.  We have invided ASPs to post links to their service descriptions so you can assess their qualifications and see whether archiving outsourcing is the right idea for your shop.
